Seed pearls represented the tears of the mourner.. Not engraved, but most often pale blond hair was that of an infant or child. Onyx Locket, Glass On One Side, c. 1860s. 25 mm x 18 mm x 10 mm plus bale. Very good to excellent condition for age and type, one cover glass inside and a lock of blond hair, original. Not engraved,
