It was designed to provide battlefield close support. Su 25 began as the T 8 Projectthe first prototype made its maiden flight on 22 February 1975, The basic version of the aircraft was produced at Tbilisi Georgia. were delivered to the 200th OShAE at Sital Chai in Azerbaijan during April 1981.
