Gibson Mastertone 5 string conversion banjo (1927+) Product Type_ Capo Held at New York's CarnegieWe offer this really wonderful Gibson Mastertone conversion banjo with great feel and tone. After evaluating its characteristics including a single row of binding on a Mahogany resonator, the archtop tone ring, the factory order number (FON) 8204 38 and the grooved tension hoop etc., we have concluded that this is a 5 string conversion of a 1920s Gibson TB 3 tenor banjo. The conversion was done very nicely with the famous "flying eagle" inlay pattern
