Antique Edwardian 14k Gold Starburst Brooch, Enhancer, Seed Pearls, Mourning carnet du bal ebony (or ebony finish) andI love to wear a lapel cluster of these old Edwardian mourning brooches, all the seed pearls and a few with diamonds, various sizes. This is the smallest one I have in my collection, at just over 1" in diameter. It's the heavenly star to which a dearly departed loved one has gone, or that's the iconographic symbolism in its time. It's loaded with seed pearls, representing the tears of the mourner who wore it in remembrance of a lost loved one. These
