Antique Victorian Needlepoint Tapestry In Frame, c.1850s, King Pardons Gallileo, Figural mint julep ID'd sitter is the friendA wonderful scene, though I'm guessing at that being Gallileo kneeling. It's a wonderful mid 1800s fine stitch needlepoint in silk and wool yarns, very nicely preserved in what would appear to be the original frame. A gold filet performs as a perfect mat to encase the tapestry. Purchased in France, we are uncertain who stitched it. Very good to excellent and no glass present so
