A Large 19th Century Aesthetic Movement Ebonised Mantel Clock, c1890 The glass front has someAn impressive and generously proportioned mantel clock in the Aesthetic Movement taste, of striking architectural inspiration. The mahogany case in an ebonised finish, is centred by a gilt painted and enamelled ceramic dial, framed by four ceramic panels finely decorated with foliate motifs, with a further rectangular panel adorning the base. Each side is flanked by a twisted column, rising to a balustraded cresting above. Evidently in the style of
