Set of ten alabaster bowls, Tanzania. 1980s. glass A unique speckled ochre glazedA set of beautifully light and calming alabaster bowls; nine small and one large serving pieces. Alabaster has been the choice material for carving, due to its soft mineral composition. Each bowl is hand carved and features a scored foot to reduce unnecessary movement. The root of alabaster, Alabastros, or perfume vase is made clear through an almost translucent body that carries notes of other elements. Some of the smaller bowls feature watercolour
