Acer palmatum 'Ryuzu' Japanese Maple Late Leaf Shape Deeply-divided Growth HabitA sturdy dwarf cultivar long in production, the name meaning "Ornamental Dragon's Head". This tree has very short internodes covering the stiff upright branches with medium sized leaves. The sharply pointed lobes seem to twist at the tips. Spring is a shrimp pink color changing to light green in summer and orange yellow in the fall. Some belief 'Ryuzu' to be the parent tree of 'Shishigashira'. Excellent for either bonsai, container or a rock garden.
