After the Civil War, thousands of cowboys drove Texas longhorns north along this rugged route to the railheads in Kansas. Dusty, dangerous, and iconic, it was the path that carried the cowboy spirit into American lore. To capture that feeling, I built the palette from the rich blues of the Texas sky and worn denim, then added in the coppery reds of the longhorns and leather saddles. Sun washed golds
