The palate is very savory in style with roasted chestnut and ferrous notes infusing the finish that has an appealing rounded texture

Made of 55% Cariñena and 45% Garnacha from old vines on slopes on slate llicorella soils

all wrapped in a classy and very pure finish of exceptional length

There is ample structure here as well though it’s largely buffered by all of the mid-palate extract and I particularly like the depth

Petit Mouton other_regions The palate is very savoryThe 2015 Le Petit Mouton feels a little closed on the nose, which displays pronounced undergrowth and sage like aromas but is not quite endowed with the energy of the excellent Saint Juliens. The fresh, vibrant palate is medium bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity and fine precision toward the finish, so that it ends on a high note. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.
