The work has the atelier stamp on the back of the painting. This lifestyle scene features a woman in the lower right hand corner, kneeling along the banks of a meandering river, washing laundry, hence the name, "Lavandire," which means laundress or washerwoman. The painting is made up of vivid strokes of green, and muted blues. Against the sky,
