Right when you enter the park from the west there is a nicely manicured lawn which caught my eye with the frost still on the grass

Ballard Locks Sloans Lake Right when you enter theHiram M. Chittenden Locks, or Ballard Locks in Seattle carry more boat traffic than other locks in the United States. On the morning I visited they had just started on a project on the large locks and thus they were fully drained. This allowed me to see a different view of the locks than normal with the various growth along the sides and gates fully visible.
